Boca Grande Location & Map
Boca Grande is located on Gasparilla Island, which is on Florida’s Southwest Coast, midway between Sarasota and Ft. Myers. Seven miles of pristine white sand beaches stretch the entire Gulf side of the island, while protected waters weave in and around the natural mangrove shorelines along the bay side. The nucleus of Gasparilla Island is the unincorporated village of Boca Grande, about two blocks square, located midpoint on the island. The island is part of both Charlotte and Lee Counties.
Fishing remains an important part of the industry and culture of the island. Each spring thousands of tarpon school and roll through Boca Grande Pass, known as the “Tarpon Fishing Capital of the World.” A fleet of guide boats, captained by local experts, is available for charter through the year for offshore, back-bay, transportation and sightseeing charters.
