Join BIPS for our most popular educational program Wading Adventures in partnership with Florida State Parks! Learn about local habitats and environments, shells, sea grasses and marine creatures! Explore the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary with an expert Florida State Park Ranger to collect local marine life and view each through a waterproof magnifying glass! Save the Date! Saturday, April 21st, 10 am to 4 pm! Join Us to Celebrate Florida Lighthouse Day! Don't miss this awesome event -- we have so much fun! One Day...Two Lights!
Only one day a year...on Florida Lighthouse Day...you can climb BOTH the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse at 880 Belcher Road in Gasparilla Island State Park AND the recently restored Gasparilla Island Lighthouse at 220 Gulf Blvd, Boca Grande!
Enjoy the parks, museum, gift shop, cake and lemonade, vendors, authors, environmental groups and activities for the kids! Must RSVP below to climb the lighthouses! Cost is reduced to only $5 per person per light for Florida Lighthouse Day and kids 9 and under are free! Must be 44" tall to climb. All fees support the preservation and operation of these beloved historic treasures! RSVP for one or both! Florida Lighthouse Day and the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse Museum admission is FREE! (There is a $3 Florida State Parks parking fee per vehicle and $6 GIBA bridge toll fee.)
