Join the Barrier Island Parks Society in partnership with Florida Park Service for our annual Great Seashell Hunt\, Island Style\, on Wednesday\, March 28 at 11am.  Have fun and learn about local history and barrier island seashells from BIPS and an expert Florida Park Ranger! Then join us on beach for an exciting seashell hunt adventure! But\, the fun doesn’t stop there — after the hunt\, exchange your seashells for prizes!!!  \nCost is $5 per child up to age 12 and reservations are required and $3 per vehicle. Fees support the mission of Barrier Island Parks Society\, a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization and four local barrier island state parks (Gasparilla\, Cayo Costa\, Don Pedro\, and Stump Pass)\, as well as BIPS’ educational programs\, the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum\, historic Amory Chapel and the Gasparilla Island Lighthouse. \n*Bucket is provided for collecting seashells.  Children must wear shoes or sandals as the sand gets hot\, so no bare feet\, please.

DESCRIPTION:This annual free event is one of the highlights of living in Boca Grande. It’s a Spring Break tradition for families to decorate their golf carts and parade along the path.  The the start of the parade is located at 5th Street\, line-up is at 9:50 am and the parade starts at 10:30 am. Gas powered vehicles are not allowed on the Bike Path. The parade route ends at the Boca Grande Community Center where the Woman’s Club Fair will be held starting at 11 am.
